OURS IS 12 BLADES VERSUS 8 OR 10 BLADES WITH OTHER MACHINES. THIS INCREASES PRODUCTION BY 20% TO 50%. OUR HEAD JOURNALS ARE OVER-SIZED, THEY’RE 3-15/16 DIAMETER VERSUS 2-15/16 DIAMETER. THIS REDUCES VIBRATION IN THE BLADES, WHICH ALSO INCREASES BLADE LIFE. OUR HEADS ARE RIGID MOUNTED. INSTEAD OF RAISING AND LOWERING OUR HEADS ON STUDS, WE RAISE AND LOWER OUR FLOORS. THIS ALSO REDUCES VIBRATION AND INCREASE BLADE LIFE. CUTTER HEAD BEARINGS ARE 3-15/16. THEY’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
